Patryk Młyniuk obtained a MSc in Optometry at the Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun (Poland) in 2019. After that, he began studies at the Doctoral School of Medical and Health Sciences at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. The subject of his PhD thesis is Morphometric and biomechanical analysis of the anterior segment in eyes with keratoconus using optical coherence tomography (OCT).

The main research interests concern issues in the field of optometry and ophthalmology, including contactology and aspects related to the anterior segment of the eye. In cooperation with the Institute of Physics of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, he participates in research on other applications of OCT.

He is an author or co-author of scientific papers (PLoS ONE, Scientific Reports, Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics, Advanced Optical Technologies), presentations and scientific posters at national and international conferences (BCLA, ESCRS, Cornea).

As fascinated of being in the optometry world more than 20 years, the focus today is on clinical optometry. Practicing in Norway for last 6 years and working on PhD thesis. The specialization of the optometry practice in Norway is in the specialty contact lenses including orthokeratology and eye disease such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and medical retina screening and follow up. As deep interest in the medical technologies and future developments, then research topic of PhD thesis is anterior segment OCT digital image segmentation algorithms and applications in the scleral lens fitting evaluation.
